The Blue Barn Theater named by Slate magazine one of the eight Best Things America Built in 2016 Slate has named the Blue Barn Theater, which inaugurated its own performance space last year in Omaha, Nebraska, as one of the eight Best Things America Built in 2016. My little sister, Michelle Zacharia has been involved with the Blue Barn in publicity design, set design, props, costuming, and as an actress, since the organization's infancy. The theater had functioned out of a rented space in the artsy Old Market District of Omaha since the late 1980s, and have performed in far-flung locations like an abandoned train station. Congratulations, Blue Barn, Mishy, and Susan Clement , Artistic Director! And thank you, Slate, for being a publication with a conscience!
